Oh dear there are lots of things I do not seem to be getting right
Today is our 8th wedding anniversary, so 8 years ago I was getting ready in Kinnitty
Castle for my big day, we got married in a tiny country chapel in a village in the countryside, my great uncle was the priest, it was all very Irish!
My son Jack was only 11 weeks old, he was in a tiny pinstriped black velvet suit,
my flowers were the duskiest pink roses so gorgeous.
It is lovely to look back and celebrate but sad to as my Dad has passed since then and I have really clear memories of him on that day.
Kevin and I went to Paris for the first time on honeymoon and it was fabulous, you nearly have to pinch yourself, to see everything you have only ever seen in the movies. We then took a train all the way to Verona Italy, the most magical journey through the snowy Alps
it was breathtaking. Then we stayed in a castle in Verona the home of Romeo and Juliette, how perfect!
Kevin surprised me with flowers this morning earning himself lots of brownie points, clever boy!
Good morning dearest!
ReplyDeleteOh, that passage from Corinthians; it is the most stunning piece of poetry, command, concept, reality, whatever you will; but one thing I do know is that if you can't seem to get it right the first time, there is always a second chance...and, a chance of a lifetime to at least PRACTICE. I have been married 30 years and every day is a chance to practice. How lovely that you were married in such a magical setting. I wish you many years of REHEARSING the lines of this beautiful love story that quite frankly, NEVER ENDS.
LOVELY PHOTOS and I am so sorry to hear that your father is no longer with you; my parents never got to see me be the first person in our immediate family to go to college and get graduate degrees....
PEACE! Anita
I've always loved that passage from the Bible. Your wedding and honeymoon sounds like it was absolutely magical!! Happy Aniversary!!

Good afternoon dearest Denise!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great compliment! Time has passed so quickly, and sometimes it feel as it has stood still and forgotten us. I still have tons of black hair and have never dyed it! Almost kinda creepy!!!!! MERCI and have a spectacular day!!! Anita
How wonderful Denise. Happy Anniversary to you two. The story of your wedding and honeymoon gave me a warm feeling. It would have been my dream, to have been married in Ireland, in a tiny village church. Much of my family came from Ireland and my husbands also. Our great-great grandparents are both from Ireland and I have dreamed of going there someday and find out more about my heritage.
ReplyDeletesending hugs....
Happy Anniversary! What a lovely romantic post for this snowy day....congratulations to both of you. Have a wonderful weekend.
